After nine years of owning and operating Cookie Cousins on Edgewater Drive, the owner of the local College Park bakery has sold the business.

Melissa Hart, who opened the bakery with her cousin in 2009, said in a Facebook post that the new owner will continue the tradition of creating hand decorated cookies. Hart is selling the business to Catherine Cramer, the owner of Southern Home Bakery in Windermere, FL.

Hart, a wife and mother of four, said that she is selling the business to focus on her family. She will continue to work at Cookie Cousins to facilitate the change in ownership. Southern Home Bakery will look to build on the successful foundation that Cookie Cousins has built in College Park.

“The beautiful custom sugar cookies will remain a staple and will be joined by the southern favorites and gift baskets too!!,” Southern Home Bakery posted on Facebook.
