As we reported in March, work on the Downtown Loop trail is moving forward. The bicycle and pedestrian track will eventually encircle downtown Orlando, linking the Orlando Urban Trail, Gertrude’s Walk, the Cady Way Trail and others into a grid of alternative transportation choices.

The Downtown Connector Trail portion of the Loop is now being built along Anderson Street, south of the 408. A lengthy, long-unused portion of the street is being converted to a protective green space while the current sidewalk is being widened into the trail that will run from Summerlin Avenue to Lake Underhill.

The project is scheduled to be completed next March.
