Celebration of Motherhood

The Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County (HSCOC) (Tax ID No.: 59-3125675) believes that every baby deserves a healthy start! Please consider making a difference in the health of our community by becoming a sponsor of our upcoming fundraising and awareness event, Celebration of Motherhood.

HSCOC, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health through community partnerships, began in 1992 as part of a statewide initiative to reduce Florida’s high infant mortality rate.

In 31 years, Healthy Start in Orange County alone has served over 300,000 pregnant women and infants.

By providing services shown to promote healthy outcomes and reduce risks for pregnant women and infants, Healthy Start is helping more women have full-term, healthy births. This means fewer babies being born too soon and too small which can then require lengthy stays in a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) – or even result in infant death. For every premature birth prevented, $55,000 is saved in NICU costs and recurrent hospital and medical expenses.
